Start With the Features That Determine Whether the Truck Fits
Rated capacity is only a starting point. Load center, lift height, mast configuration and any attachment can change how much the forklift can safely handle in the required position. Confirm the data plate and the capacity that applies to the actual configuration.
Physical fit matters just as much. Compare overall width and length, turning radius, aisle requirement, lowered mast height, overhead guard height and ground clearance. Tire type and power source should match the floor, outdoor surface, ventilation, charging or fuel access and expected duty cycle.
Also review fork length, side shift or other attachments, operator visibility, control layout, ingress, lights and worksite-appropriate warning devices. Maintenance access, parts support and the local service plan affect how well the truck performs after purchase or rental.
What should buyers verify?
