What affects pricing for a new electric forklift?

Specify the Truck, Battery and Charger Together

A new electric forklift proposal should identify the truck class, rated capacity, required capacity at height, mast, lowered height, tires and attachments. Three-wheel counterbalance, four-wheel counterbalance, reach and order-picker equipment serve different facilities and should not be compared as if they were interchangeable.

The battery and charging package can materially change the proposal. Confirm battery chemistry, usable capacity, charger type, voltage, connector, charging schedule and whether electrical work is outside the quote. Multi-shift applications may require a different charging or battery plan than light single-shift use.

Ask for freight, commissioning, operator familiarization, warranty, planned service and any software or telematics charges to be listed. A useful pricing request also includes the load, height, aisle, floor, daily hours and delivery ZIP code so each proposal addresses the same work.

What should buyers verify?

  • Truck class, capacity and mast
  • Battery chemistry and usable capacity
  • Charger, voltage and connector
  • Attachments and worksite options
  • Freight, commissioning, warranty and service
